How to find out who is sharing your line:
Go to your tmadmin page> device info > DHCP

By right you should be viewing a page like this. *for photos, please view it from my blog* On image A only 5 of the
devices sharing it. But on image B, there are another intruder which is using it. (Info of mac address has been masked in the image because each mac address is unique for each device, however, advanced hacker can mimic your mac address, thus, mac filtering won't be useful to kick them out)
How to find out your Mac address?
Mac address is like an identity for your devices. Each device has an unique mac address. To find out your Mac address, try follow these steps.
1) Go to command prompt on your pc ( To open the command prompt, use search or run "command prompt")
2) When you are in the command prompt, leave a space and type " ipconfig/all" and press enter.
[space]ipconfig/all[enter]
3) Search for physical address under Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection, that will be your Mac address. If you are not sure, please refer to the image.
How to block from Hacker?
After getting your Mac address, you can compare with the list of devices, see which is the unknown Mac address who is also sharing your connection. If there are really someone not from your house using it, then you should try the Mac filter on TMadmin to enable only a list of devices
*You may refer to the images*. Under wireless, click Mac filter. Key in your mac address and remember to check "allow" on Mac restrict mode. This is to allow only Mac address on the list to use the connection.
How to increase the security?
Go to wireless>security>network authentication set WPA-psk>wpa encryption set AES. *Image is provided*
Type in WPA Pre-shared key. Remember it. It will be your password.
For higher security you may choose WPA2 however older devices may not be able to support it. So, to avoid any inconveniences, you may just choose WPA-psk.
There are many more options to block the hacker, however, the above steps is enough to block most hackers. While other steps which is to hide your SSID and add in network manually may be too troublesome for each user.
However, the most reliable way to avoid from hacker is to disable your wifi and start using LAN cable. This way is the easiest way but inconvenient for people who are sharing the internet for their mobile phone.
