Tempeh provides excellant source of dietary fiber and protein. It can be a great meat substitude for vegetarian. Its protein  is equal to eggs, milk and meat. And it comes without cholesterol and saturated fat. Component like Isoflavones and Saponins are found

in soy beans. These important components help in maintaining healthy bones, reducing uneasiness from menopause, and preventing breast and prostate cancers.

As a result from fermentation, indigestion which is usuallly associated with beans is reduced. Apart from that, it allows better absorption of nutrients by our bodies. This is because during the process of fermentation, phytic acid from the coat of beans is redeuced. 

It is also proved to lower the risk of heart attack as it increases the flexibility of blood vessels and reduces blood cholesterol.
